CARE is a ministry of Playa Christian Church that asks you to live out your faith by caring for those who live in need. Throughout the year CARE prioritizes efforts to relieve suffering. Such efforts have included collecting clothes for the homeless, food for those suffering with AIDS, providing encouragment for families of prisoners, and resources for those affected by illiteracy. CARE is committed to fulfilling the exhortation given by Jesus in Matthew 25:35-45. We believe that together, as people of faith, we can build a movement and relieve needless suffering in our community. 2009 Year-end Offering

CARE Ministry continually looks for ways to help those in need. Realizing that many in our community are struggling to pay various bills such as housing and utility commitments, CARE is challenging everyone to make a small sacrifice every week for the next month as an act of love. Specifically, for example, we are asking people to forgo, at least once a week, a morning's cup of coffee from the local coffeehouse, or your weekly frozen yogurt fix. Any indulgence will work. Together with the money saved, we will help a struggling family pay one of their monthly commitments.

This offering should not come out of your regular church giving. Remember we are sacrificing as an act of service.
